CAMPAIGNS + FIELD PROGRAMS

Doors get knocked
either way.
The difference is who's
accountable for what
happens at them.

VFO builds and manages political field programs designed to persuade voters, identify support and mobilize turnout — with the accountability to know the work is actually happening.

We do not simply deploy canvassers. We manage, measure, verify and audit the field operation.

WHO THIS IS FOR

Built for campaigns
where field can
change the outcome.

You may already have a general consultant, polling, targeting, a voter file, message, mail and digital. None of that knocks a door. What VFO is hired to own is the execution layer — the part of the plan that only exists if people actually do it, correctly, on schedule.

01

Candidate Campaigns

Federal, state, county, municipal and down-ballot races that need voters persuaded, supporters identified and turnout delivered.

02

Statewide Campaigns

Programs where geography, staffing volume and daily production management are the operational problem.

03

Independent Expenditures + PACs

Independent programs that need disciplined execution, clean documentation and a partner that operates in its own lane.

04

Political Parties

Committees running coordinated voter contact across multiple races, districts or targets at once.

05

Ballot + Issue Campaigns

Referendum, millage, charter and ballot-question committees where the vote is on the question.

06

Public Affairs + Advocacy

Organizations running persuasion, identification or mobilization programs on an issue rather than an election night.

THE REAL PROBLEM

A number on a report
isn't a door
actually knocked.

Campaigns are asked to take field production on faith. Work goes in, numbers come out, and nobody inside the campaign can independently confirm what happened in between. By the time the gap shows up, the election is over.

Canvassers are deployed.

But were the right doors attempted?

Contacts are reported.

But did the conversations happen?

Numbers come in.

But can leadership trust them?

The program is running.

But is anyone correcting it?

Election day arrives.

But did field do its job?

Campaign leadership is not buying canvassing. It is buying protection from uncontrolled field teams, bad information, missed universes, wasted field spend, poor-quality voter contact — and from finding out after election day that the program was not what it appeared to be.

ACCOUNTABLE FIELD EXECUTION

Field accountability
is built into
the program.

Accountability is not a promise VFO makes at the pitch. It is a set of standing systems — how canvassers are employed and managed, how work is checked in the field, how irregularities are investigated, and how fast a problem gets back to campaign leadership.

W‑2

Canvassers

An accountable workforce managed directly by VFO.

VFO's canvassers are W‑2 employees. That is a structural difference, not a slogan: the people at your doors are hired, trained, supervised, evaluated and — when necessary — removed by VFO. The campaign's field program is run by a managed workforce rather than handed to an unmanaged network of independent contractors.

Employment structure alone does not guarantee performance. What it creates is the management authority to set a standard and enforce it.

01

Direct Field Management

Field managers own daily production, conduct and quality on the ground — not a dispatcher checking a total at the end of the week.

02

In-Field Audits

VFO conducts in-field auditing of active programs, including randomized checks and verification designed to confirm work is being performed as reported.

03

Fraud & Auditing

A dedicated function, held at vice-president level. When activity looks wrong, VFO investigates it rather than filing it.

04

Quality Control

Production alone is not success. VFO evaluates how voter contact is being performed, not only how much of it there is.

05

Live Correction

The point of all of it. Weak performers are corrected or removed and priorities are moved while the program is still in the field.

What happens to a single door

  1. 01Door assigned
  2. 02Canvasser deployed
  3. 03Activity recorded
  4. 04Field verified
  5. 05Data reviewed
  6. 06Performance adjusted

Six checkpoints, on every program. This is not a second methodology — it is what Execution and Intelligence actually look like inside the VFO³ System.

Activity is not performance.

A door count tells a campaign how much effort was spent. Verified, audited field data tells campaign leadership whether it worked, where it worked, and what to change on Monday. Reporting is scoped to the program — what is tracked is agreed before the first canvasser is deployed. The commitment is not a fixed list of metrics. It is that nothing important reaches campaign leadership after the point where it could still have been fixed.

If field can decide your race, it should be the part of the program you worry about least.

Field verification · Client testimonial

The client checked
the work himself.
The work was there.

“As an attorney, I was skeptical, so I personally knocked on random doors to verify. Every voter I spoke with praised the VFO canvasser who had visited.”

I wanted the best — and VFO delivered. Their daily knock reports were timely, detailed, and filled with actionable survey data. What truly impressed me was the volume of supporters and yard sign locations they secured. Every time I had a question during the bid process or once the project was active, the VFO team was reliably available and provided me with exactly what I needed right away.

As an attorney, I was skeptical, so I personally knocked on random doors to verify. Every voter I spoke with praised the VFO canvasser who had visited. Their team is professional, accountable, and absolutely effective. I paid for this program out of pocket — and without a doubt, it helped push my campaign across the finish line.

HOW THE PROGRAM WORKS

You don't need more
door knockers.
You need a field
operation.

A field operation is not a quantity of people. It decides where they go, trains them on what to say, manages what they do every day, checks whether it was done properly, and changes course when the measurement says to.

Campaign leadership owns the political strategy. VFO turns that strategy into accountable execution.

THE VFO³ SYSTEM

Strategy. Execution.
Intelligence. Better strategy.

01 · Strategy

Define the win

Know what field has to accomplish.

Objective, universe, geography, message, timing, and the measurable outcome field is responsible for producing.

02 · Execution

Put it in the field

Recruit, train, deploy, manage.

Staffing, training, scripts, routes and daily targets — run by W‑2 canvassers under field management accountable for production and quality.

03 · Intelligence

Measure and verify

Know what actually happened.

Production, contacts, voter responses, geography and canvasser performance — checked by in-field audits so the data is worth acting on.

04 · Better Strategy

Adjust while it matters

Use what the field tells you.

Intelligence goes back to campaign leadership so targeting, messaging, staffing and priorities change while the program is still live.

← Back to Strategy

The loop repeats for as long as the program is in the field.

Phases — persuasion, voter ID, GOTV

The situation

A high-stakes local ballot fight where the outcome directly affected the client's ability to operate. Losing was not a bad news cycle — it was an operational consequence the client would have had to live with.

The field

Five rounds of direct voter engagement, moving deliberately from persuasion and voter identification into turnout as the vote approached. Each round was built on what the previous round returned from the doors — the VFO³ loop running on a live program rather than described in a deck.

01 · Persuasion02 · Persuasion03 · Voter ID04 · Voter ID05 · GOTV

The outcome

62.3% final vote share. A +24.6-point margin. The field program supported the campaign that produced that result.

VFO does not claim sole causation for any election result. Campaigns win on message, candidate, environment, resources and execution together; field is one of those. What is stated here is what VFO was accountable for and what the campaign it supported achieved. Client, jurisdiction and dates are withheld under VFO's confidentiality standard.

34%+

Conversation rate

Completed voter conversations as a share of doors attempted on VFO-managed political programs — a live human conversation at the door, not a literature drop, a not-home or a refusal.

Roughly one in three attempted doors produces a real conversation, which is what determines how large a universe a program can actually move in the time available.

~2:1

Positive persuasion movement

Across VFO persuasion programs, voters recorded as moving toward the client's position outnumber those recorded as moving away by approximately two to one.

Persuasion canvassing moves voters in both directions. What matters is net direction — and whether anyone is measuring it while the program is still running.

175

Canvassers deployed at once

Peak simultaneous field staffing on a single VFO-managed program — recruited, trained, deployed and managed as one accountable operation.

Staffing at that level is a management problem, not a hiring problem. It is the difference between a program that scales and one that simply gets bigger.

610,000

Doors in a single program

The largest single-program door universe VFO has planned, deployed against and managed to completion.

A universe that size is won or lost on daily production discipline. It is the clearest evidence that VFO's operating model holds at statewide scale.

Every program starts the same way — with what has to happen at the doors, and by when.
